FOUNDER'S NOTE

My passion is people and men’s grooming, I believe we all have a calling, a greater service to others. Something that we would do for free because the reward in the process is greater than the monetary exchange. The riches come in meeting people, hearing their stories, and the gratification in seeing the effect and transformation a haircut can have on someone. Doing so in a comfortable environment while having an uplifting conversation and receiving professional grooming services can have an amazing lasting impression on a man.

Those that have known me know I have been in the men’s grooming industry for well over a decade, mastering and perfecting the men’s haircut industry offering the best men’s haircut, and men’s haircut experience in Tulsa and Oklahoma making the words “men’s grooming” “tailored haircut” “grooming professional” regularly used in the industry.

JUSTIN'S JOURNEY

2010

Justin started planning his vision to offer the best mens grooming experience Tulsa had ever seen. He took the salon aspect combined with traditional barbering and created the first mens grooming lounge Tulsa would eventually fall in love with. He spent the next 2 years planning and refining his business idea.

2012

Launch day! Years of planning and designing was about to pay off. With a vision and a matched 7k investment the first mens grooming lounge Tulsa had ever seen was about to open. Elephant in the Room Mens Grooming Lounge at 16th and Boston in Tulsa was now open.

2013

Justin's mens grooming experience and mens haircut model was taking traction. Offering mens haircuts, beard trims, hot towel, paraffin hand treatments, essential oil scalp massage, face scrub, face moisturizer. The men of Tulsa hadn't experienced this before and were loving it. Justin expanded to his second location, Elephant in the Room South Tulsa at 91st in Yale. Justin now had two Elephant in the Room Mens Grooming Lounge locations in Tulsa that men could choose from.

2014

As Justin's growth in the mens grooming Tulsa market and surrounding areas grew. His membership model was a hit. Key words like grooming professionals, tailored haircut, mens grooming started becoming known. Justin opened his third Elephant in the Room Mens Grooming Lounge Broken Arrow location.

2015

Justin launched Elephant in the Room Mens Grooming product line offering shampoo, conditioner, moisturizer, body wash, beard balm and beard oil. He hand picked scents and spent countless hours of research to come out with an amazing men's product line.

2017

Celebrating 5 years since the original Elephant in the Room downtown location opened. Justin relocated the original Elephant in the Room Mens Grooming Lounge from 16th in Boston to 18th in Boston.

2018

Elephant in the Room Mens Grooming Lounge sold its first franchise in Oklahoma City. Justin oversaw the sight selection and buildout.

2019

Justin built Elephant in the Rooms Mens Grooming Lounge Oklahoma City second location. Justin also launched a new men's product line called Harri Styles that was high end styling products. At the end of 2019, Justin made the decision to sell his ownership in Elephant in the Room Tulsa and starts his 2 year non-compete for the state of Oklahoma.

2020

After deliberation Justin decided he wanted to continue his vision of offering Tulsa the best mens haircuts Tulsa has ever seen and started working on a new barbershop experience.

2021

December of 2021 Justin's non-compete ended and he started his work on the brand new mens haircuts experience called Toms Mens Haircuts. Toms standing for The Original Man, as Justin was the Original Man in Elephant in the Room and the Original man to bring an upscale mens barbershop experience to the Tulsa area.

2022

January 2022 Toms Mens Haircuts is open. And within a few months Justin launched Toms Mens Grooming Product line. Toms has grown faster than any of his previous shops and he is grateful to serve the Men of Tulsa again with the new vision that is based around community with the foundation of love, kindness and respect.

2024

Toms Mens Haircuts celebrates 2 years with unprecedented results. Justin plans to open a second location this year and will continue to grow Toms thought Tulsa and the surrounding area.
